What a joke!

From December 2007, adding beetroot to your subs will cost $0.30 extra on 6 inch subs and $0.60 extra on foot-long subs. I have only been to one Subway store this month but I hear all stores have this “important” sticker about beetroot attached to their shop-windows. They say it is being done for "market" reasons ie, beetroot wholesale prices have obviously increased.

Beetroot is only available in South Australia, no other city in the WORLD has it, so how can a multi-national business such as Subway, who's annual profits would be in the multi-millions, be concerened with adding 6 cubes of beetroot to a foot-long sandwich! My Southwest sauce will never taste the same again!
