Adelaide Debut - Where to Go?

I am travelling to Adelaide in a couple of weeks with a group of friends for the Adelaide Cup. We are staying in Glenelg and will be there from Fri 6th till Tues 10th March and as none of us have ever been to Adelaide/Glenelg before we have no idea where to head out and have a good time. We are all from Newcastle (a couple of hours drive north of Sydney), male and approx 30 years old and enjoy good quality pubs and lots of them. Any help for locations for Fri, Sat, Sun that will let us have fun to the early hours from locals in the know would be greatly appreciated.

     Cheers

You boys should have a great time down in for the long weekend!  There's plenty of options about city & Glenelg to enjoy the Adelaide nightlife. You've picked the perfect time of year to come to Adelaide, with the Fringe Festival on, really getting the place buzzing.

For the Friday / Saturday night I would probably head into the city.  There will be plenty of things happening, Rundle Street is probably your best bet, with a selection of great pubs on offer. Be sure to check out the Garden of Unearthly Delights at the bottom of Rundle Street, great fun!

Sunday you could head to Glenelg for a Sunday-session, plenty of good options, particularly on Moseley Square, including The Dublin, The Grand, and the Jetty Hotel.

    Enjoy your stay!!

    Ben.

    Hey there,

I'm also about to take a road trip (from Sydney) down to Adelaide.

I was told that there were some cool wine bars that are worth checking out. Do you know where they are?

There plenty of cool little wine/cocktail bars around Adelaide, a few to check out are:

    * The Banque (O'Connell St - Nth Adelaide)
    * Fumo Blu (Rundle St - City)
    * Distill (Rundle St - City)
    * Dragonfly (Victoria Sq - City)

    Have a great trip!
